Planning the Portrait

It begins with a conversation where we discuss the size of the painting, whether you desire an informal or formal portrait, how many people will be included in the painting, and other essential topics. To ensure that I have the lighting and composition necessary for creating a painting, a photo session is included. After the photo shoot, I will make recommendations about which photographs have the strongest composition, and you can advise me as to which one speaks to you and captures a certain gesture or spark of the subject to be painted. Once the resource photograph is selected, the painting process begins.

Deposit

Once the final resource photograph is selected, a non-refundable deposit of 40 percent is due.

Final Approval and Payment

From the date that the resource photo is selected, your painting will be completed within four months. You will see your painting in its finished state to ensure the likeness and other important aspects meet your expectations. Once the painting is approved by you, the balance of the payment is due.

Travel, framing, shipping, and applicable taxes are in addition to the base price.

Additional Subjects

As noted, prices vary depending on the size and complexity of the painting. Each additional subject in the painting is 40 percent of the overall price. Animals included in the portrait are 25 percent more.

Prices effective October, 2022.
